Joey

Joey is a professional make-up artist who has an eye for detail. Her super patient and kind personality makes learning makeup enjoyable and lovely. Her favourite make-up brand of the moment is Charlotte Tillbury and she can’t do without her concealer to make her more alert and fresh. What is your favourite topic to teach & why?

My favourite makeup topic is eyeshadow. Eyeshadow can make a person look cute, warm, sophisticated or mysterious depending on the type of eyeshadow done.
Furthermore, it is fun to explore the different color sets on the palette and having eye shadows on can really elevate one’s overall look!

Why do you feel passionate about makeup education?

The satisfaction I get when someone feels more confident in themselves after putting on makeup. It is like a magic tool that unknowingly instills confidence and happiness in oneself.

What are your hobbies or pastimes?

I practice yoga, initially as a fitness routine. But slowly it has become my hobby in which it requires mindfulness when practicing each pose.

Other than that, who doesn’t like to Netflix and chill?
I particularly like Korean light hearted dramas or Chinese ancient dramas.

What makeup journey like? When you first started applying makeup until now?

I did a makeup makeover and hairdo for my sister-in-law and my mother-in-law once for a wedding lunch. I’m so grateful that they put their trust in me. In the end, they felt more confident and happy in themselves. That alone made the hectic early morning worth it.
